Green Earth Fuels, LLC produces biodiesel via its subsidiary, Green Earth Fuels of Houston, LLC (GEFH).

Fuel-grade biodiesel is produced from any fat- or plant-based oil to strict industry specifications (American Society for Testing and Materials/ASTM D6751) through a refinery process called transesterification. This established process combines natural feedstocks such as vegetable oils or animal fats with a short chain alcohol in the presence of a catalyst.

Raw vegetable oil cannot meet biodiesel fuel specifications, nor is it legally registered with the Environmental Protection Agency as a permissible motor fuel for sale and distribution.

GEFH's 90 million-gallon-per-year biodiesel production facility located on the Houston Ship Channel utilizes a flexible, hybrid-batch operating mode of reaction and employs the rigorous quality standards and processes necessary to exceed ASTM-D6751 biodiesel specifications.

Exceptional product quality

The GEFH facility in Houston utilizes a proprietary design which focuses on producing ratable and high quality biodiesel that consistently meets and exceeds stringent ASTM specifications.

An on-site fuel-testing lab, managed by highly experienced Green Earth technicians, closely monitors biodiesel quality throughout every step of processing to ensure that all of the product will meet ASTM requirements before third-party certifications are performed, and that only high quality biodiesel is allowed to exit the plant.

Green Earth Fuels is also invested in ongoing feedstock development and best practices farming of current crops, to ensure a reliable supply of feedstocks that promote long-term environmental and economic sustainability.
